Technology

One of the notable strengths of BYD is that it produces its own chips, in addition to its in-house batteries and other vertical integrations. This has allowed the company to rapidly expand over the past two years while many of its rivals have struggled with chip and other supply shortages. Furthermore, BYD is not just focused on electric vehicles and batteries but also has solar operations as part of its diverse portfolio. This level of vertical integration and diversification is a key factor in BYD’s success and ability to weather supply chain challenges in the industry.

With a starting price of around £37,000, the Atto 3 is an attractive option for those looking to make the switch to sustainable mobility. But it’s not just the price that’s got people excited, this cutting-edge EV boasts impressive specs that rival some of the biggest names in the market.

the Atto 3 is a front-wheel-drive crossover that packs a punch with its 201bhp motor. Similar in size and performance to the popular MG ZS EV,  Plus, with a speedy 0-62mph time of just 7.3 seconds, the Atto 3 promises to deliver a thrilling driving experience that’s both eco-friendly and fun.

The Future

The UK government’s ambitious ZEV Mandate is set to drive growth in the electric vehicle market, with the aim of increasing EV sales from 16% in 2022 to 22% in 2024. This presents a significant opportunity for new players in the industry, including BYD and other EV firms.

BYD’s investment in autonomous driving technologies and in-house development of chips and Lidar technology demonstrates the company’s commitment to innovation and staying ahead of the competition.
